Drupal, Drupal everywhere…

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

We are doing a lot of Drupal work lately.  Drupal is a very powerful Open Source software solution which allows very rapid development of new community and content sites.   Many parts are pre-built, which dramatically lowers the cost of building and maintaining a web site.

Here are some interesting Drupal links if you are interesting in learning more on the technical side.

iPhones running on T-Mobile

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

So, I have had the opportunity to test an unlocked iPhone on the T-Mobile network. It is the older 2G service iPhone, but this is perfect for me as most of the t-Mobile coverage in my area is 2G anyhow. Besides, 2G runs with less power and if an application can run on the 2G network, it will definitely run on the 3G without an issue.

So far, so good. Now with a single SIM card, I can develop and test on both Andriod and iPhones without having to have 2 phones and 2 services. Definitely a nice situation to be in.

Here is a good article on Syncing Gmail, Google Contacts, etc.

Major Changes in the Search World

Bing and Google will now (or will shortly) be indexing tweets near real time. This is a disruptive change to search and how businesses can leverage it. It will be interesting to see how today’s major search players handle short messages and what attributes they find most useful.

It is no longer possible for your business to ignore social media. Be sure that you are on enaged and therefore stay on the map of potential customers. Traditional SEO strategies will need to evolve to include an integrated traditional web and social media approach.
